ReNew Petra Continues to Grow with Top Industry Talent
ReNew Petra is continuing to add experienced team members to meet the exciting growth that the company has experienced over the past year. The nine team members that have been added this year bring over 140 years of experience to ReNew Petra.
ReNew Petra has named Tim Holder director of strategic business development. As a former EnergyUnited executive, Mr. Holder’s background covers two decades in the electric utility and energy industry with emphasis on strategic planning, emerging technology, economic development, marketing, sales, communications, governmental affairs, renewable energy and customer service. Mr. Holder earned a master’s in business administration with a concentration in energy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Jason Sparks joined the team as director of construction. He’s held many construction project roles from field engineer to superintendent to project manager. Mr. Sparks came to ReNew Petra after working at Turner Construction for 14 years. In 2016 alone, the self-perform operations division at Turner that Mr. Sparks managed brought in $11 million in revenue. His combined experience in construction and management allows ReNew Petra to execute each project with excellence. He earned his bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Jon Ellis has been promoted to chief financial officer of ReNew Petra Integrators. Mr. Ellis brings an array of experiences across numerous industries, including underwriting, credit risk management, commercial and real estate lending and renewable energy project finance. Additionally, Mr. Ellis was director of project finance for a large, utility-scale solar developer where he was responsible for corporate and project finance. His nearly three decades of experience include financial modeling, budgeting, document creation, business plan creation, securing entitlements, strategic vendor relationships and project management, all with a focus on institutional credit quality. Mr. Ellis holds a master’s in finance and strategic planning from University of Pittsburgh, and a bachelor of science in both business and psychology.
ReNew Petra has added Michele Brewer to the team as senior accountant. She brings more than ten years of accounting experience to the team and is a certified public accountant. In her new role, Ms. Brewer supervises all accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functions. With a keen attention to detail, Ms. Brewer prepares financial documents, oversees company bookkeeping and prepares regular reports. Ms. Brewer holds a bachelor and master’s degree in accounting from East Carolina University.
Andy Brown joined the team as network operations specialist. He is responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operations and maintenance of ReNew Petra’s sites. Mr. Brown most recently worked as an analyst for a multi-billion-dollar company. He uses his experience in system monitoring, business analysis and construction to measure the success of solar projects while ensuring that systems are running properly. Mr. Brown earned his bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Appalachian State University.
Stephen LaFleur joins as senior project manager. His focus is managing large solar projects and delivering excellence through sustainability. Mr. LaFleur is experienced in green buildings, energy transfer, water purification and education programs. Prior to working at ReNew Petra, he worked as both a project manager and director of development for a leading renewable energy developer. As director of development he successfully developed and constructed over 300 megawatts resulting in over $400 million of renewable energy investment. Mr. LaFleur holds a degree in appropriate technology from Appalachian State University.
ReNew Petra added Phil Leide to the team as an IT specialist. Mr. Leide provides technical support to the team while continuously improving processes and maintaining technological assets. His background in both IT and marketing provide a unique perspective that continuously drives the team forward. Mr. Leide holds a bachelor’s degree in mass media from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Shannon Lingo is a project manager that focuses on bio-gas and bio-energy projects. With more than 25 years of experience in project management and engineering, and seven of those at Duke Energy, Ms. Lingo drives projects from design and procurement all the way through to construction commissioning and close out. She also supports the backend of project development and operations and management handoff. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Ohio State University and has continued her education through courses in sustainable engineering and project management.
