WAYNE MARSHALL, PE
As Managing Director of ReNew Petra, Mr. Marshall’s responsibilities include leading the firm’s project development, engineering and technical due diligence, and construction. As a former Duke Energy senior manager for almost two decades, Mr. Marshall deeply understands the electrical utility business and how to translate between regulatory, public and private sectors. Mr. Marshall is a Registered Professional Engineer in multiple states and has received numerous national awards for technical innovation and leadership.
RICHARD PAYNE, JD
As Managing Director of ReNew Petra, Mr. Payne’s responsibilities include leading the firm’s project acquisitions, legal oversight, financial analysis, and internal corporate operations. Mr. Payne has over a decade of experience in development, project management, capital raising, and legal transactions to develop large project pipelines. Mr. Payne earned a law degree from George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University.
KIZZIE BOZEMAN BROWN, MBA
Chief Financial Officer
As CFO, Ms. Brown is responsible for overall financial management, compliance and accounting, and analyzing investment opportunities and strategy. Ms. Brown has 25 years of experience in financial services spanning both corporate investment banking and financial operations in new or emerging growth companies. In her various CFO roles, she has provided financing strategy and operations services in various industries with a particular expertise in real estate finance. Ms. Brown earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Howard University.
GREG PETERSON, PE
Chief Executive Officer
As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Peterson supports all business initiatives of the company including strategic client project development. He has more than 30 years of experience in developing and implementing energy efficiency, cogeneration, and renewable projects for industrial, commercial, governmental, and institutional clients in North America. Previously, he has led a $40,000,000 per year commodity management business unit. Mr. Peterson’s construction, cogeneration and energy efficiency experience includes nearly four decades of experience at both Duke Energy and IBM.
Chief Operating Officer
As COO, Mr. Turner brings expansive knowledge of steel racking for utility-scale and commercial solar projects, as well as experience utilizing raw materials and innovative design to enhance supply chain and product development. As the Director of Engineering at DCE Solar, he managed all research and development efforts to create industry-leading racking products and take DCE from inception to a multi-million dollar company. Mr. Turner received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Vice President of Construction
As VP of Construction, Adolfo Levi has extensive knowledge and two decades of experience in architectural design. Beginning in the residential and commercial housing industry, Mr. Levi worked with companies such as Simonini, Dienst, Kenneth Bealer and Lifestyle Custom Homes before starting Copperstone Builders, a quality custom home construction company. Mr. Levi received his education at the University of Maryland and Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (University of Morelos) holds an unlimited general contractor license in the state of North Carolina.
Director of Marketing + Branding
As Director of Marketing + Branding, Ms. Allen oversees the brand management, marketing strategy and communications for ReNew Petra. She implements marketing strategies, builds awareness and positioning for the company’s brand, and facilitates internal and external communication. Ms. Allen graduated with a bachelor’s in interior architecture from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a master’s in design management from Savannah College of Art and Design.
Senior Construction Manager
As Senior Construction Manager, Mr. Bain excels at completing mission-critical projects on schedule and within budget. Mr. Bain is an accomplished professional with over 20 years of comprehensive large-scale management experience in managing multi-million-dollar construction projects, coordinating workforce teams of 20+ subcontractors, and performing budget allocation and analysis. He has outstanding communication talents with proven ability to build and lead highly efficient teams, train technical personnel, and convey complex concepts in understandable terms. Mr. Bain studied construction management at Southern Polytechnic State University in Atlanta, Georgia.
JOHN BARBEE, CPA
As Controller, Mr. Barbee guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. He brings 32 years of experience in both public accounting and the private industry, including tax preparation, bookkeeping, and auditing services. Mr. Barbee is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the North Carolina State Board of CPA Examiners and the Construction Financial Management Association.
As a project manager, Mr. Dockery is primarily responsible for laying the early groundwork for upcoming projects, developing project schedules, and acquiring acquisition information for the construction team. In addition, he is responsible for visiting potential sites and performing assessments, as well as managing ReNew Petra’s Procore account. Mr. Dockery earned a bachelor’s in sustainable development from Appalachian State University.
JON P. ELLIS
Director of Project Finance
As Director of Project Finance, Mr. Ellis brings a diverse array of experiences across numerous industries, including lending, underwriting, credit risk management and renewable energy project finance while working to underwrite bank loans. Additionally, Mr. Ellis was Director of Project Finance for a large, utility-scale solar developer where he was responsible for closing financing. His extensive experience includes financial modeling, budgeting, document creation, business plan creation, entitlements, strategic vendor relationships and project management, all with a focus on institutional credit quality.
BRANDON HODGE, MBA
Manager of Special Projects
As Manager of Special Projects, Mr. Hodge is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating activities of designated projects to ensure goals and objectives are met. Mr. Hodge uses his project management experience, along with marketing, sales, engineering, operations and customer support, to complete projects on time and within budget. Mr. Hodge earned a bachelor’s in Corporate Communications from Bryan College, and a Masters in Business Administration from Liberty University.
Director of Strategic Business Development
As Director of Strategic Business Development, Mr. Holder’s efforts are focused on the growth and development strategies for Renew Petra. As a former EnergyUnited executive, Mr. Holder’s background covers two decades in the electric utility and energy industry with emphasis on strategic planning, emerging technology, economic development, marketing, sales, communications, governmental affairs, renewable energy and customer service. Mr. Holder earned a master’s in business administration with a concentration in energy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
GEORGE IRWIN, PE
As Senior Engineer, Mr. Irwin brings over 30 years of energy and facilities engineering experience, including development, design, procurement, construction and management experience. Mr. Irwin has applied his range of industrial and utility experience in the energy services industry, implementing energy cost saving programs and projects for many large and small commercial, industrial, institutional, and military facilities around the country. Mr. Irwin is an active member in numerous professional associations, including ASME and ASHRAE, and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi and Kentucky.
WILBURN OZIOGU, JD
As Legal Specialist, Mr. Oziogu provides legal support for internal operations, project acquisitions and compliance. He is also the Data Room Manager, organizing and maintaining each project data room to ensure accuracy of information, internal record-keeping and information sharing between third parties. Mr. Oziogu earned a degree in political science from North Carolina Central University and his juris doctorate from Elon University School of Law.
Executive Administrative Assistant
As the Executive Administrative Assistant, Ms. Villanueva provides organizational and administrative support for ReNew Petra. With a background in business administration, real estate and bilingual support, she provides needed assistance for the team. Ms. Villanueva is a certified notary and is actively involved in the community through the York County Chamber of Commerce, BNI Rock Hill and Charlotte, and has a partnership with Winthrop Business Development.
