NEWS: ReNew Petra Awarded Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Certification
February 14, 2019, Huntersville, N.C. – Today, ReNew Petra, a renewable energy investment and construction company based in Huntersville, North Carolina, proudly announced its new North Carolina Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) certification. This certification was awarded by the North Carolina Department of Administration Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses.

This diversity is what makes us so good at what we do,” said Richard Payne, managing director of ReNew Petra. “With this new certification, we hope to widen our customer base, increasing our number of renewable projects for North Carolina and the region, and providing more clean energy for local communities.”
The Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses facilitates business growth and provides new opportunities for historically underutilized businesses. As a result of the new certification, ReNew Petra is now listed in the Statewide Uniform Certification (SWUC) Program database. The MWBE certification will help ReNew Petra increase access to contract bids for government projects at both the state and local level. This current MWBE certification will be in effect for the next four years.
ReNew Petra began with two projects in 2016 and now manages a total of 16 projects across four states consisting of solar, landfill-gas-to-energy, and bioenergy. As a licensed general contracting company with more than 100 years of combined industry experience among the leadership team, ReNew Petra provides engineering, procurement, and construction services. ReNew Petra also provides operations and maintenance services for all their own projects and for third parties.
